It is similar to the consumer release of Mac OS X, but alsoincludes a suite of network services, such as a print server, filesharing, QuickTime streaming, NetBoot, and advanced webhosting. - The Happy Mac icon was the normal bootup screen of the Macintosh, it was also used on floppy disks of System softwares. The Mac OS logo and rebranding marks it's debut on version 7.5.1. Released on March 23, 1995. This logo was used for the Mac OS X v10.0, code-named 'Cheetah', and v10.1, code-named 'Puma'. These versions were preceded by the Mac OS X Public Beta, code-named 'Kodiak'.
- Officially, the operating system that was available on that Mac at the time that you bought it is the oldest version of macOS that can run on that Mac. It's likely that an older OS won't include.
iOS: Based on Mac OS X, versions of iOS run on theiPhone, the iPod touch, and the iPad. The iOS was designed forhandheld devices, and is much more tightly controlled than otherversions of Mac OS X. Despite their shared origins, applications(apps) developed for iOS are not compatible with Mac OS X, and viceversa.
